Welcome Scott Rinehart
With growth comes opportunity, it also brings along a need for a larger staff to better serve our clients. At Carlson Financial we are thrilled to welcome Scott Rinehart to our Kansas office as a Financial Advisor. Scott joins us from Westar Energy’s financial division. Scott is eager to get to know all of the wonderful people who work with us. Topeka is home for Scott and his wife. We invite you to see his full bio below to learn more about him. We will also be adding an advisor to our Richmond, Virginia office very soon. It’s an exciting time for our firm and we could not be more humbled or thankful to work for you all.
Scott is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, and a born and raised Topekan. He’s a fourth-generation Washburn Rural Junior Blue, and a proud Washburn Ichabod. After graduating from Washburn University with a degree in Accounting and Finance, Scott began his career in financial and SEC reporting at FHLBank Topeka. He spent the last four years at Westar Energy in the Corporate Finance department. There he gained capital markets experience, coordinating with investment bankers, legal teams, and trustees on debt and equity issuances. He also provided testimony support and research for rate cases. Scott also served as support for Westar’s Investment and Benefit Committee. For the last year, Scott was responsible for the monthly reporting of current and projected earnings results to the officer team. While he enjoyed his work at Westar, Scott was missing the impact he could have by working with individuals. He’s had a passion for personal finance since college, and when the opportunity at Carlson Financial presented itself, he felt confident this would be the opportunity he was looking for to better the lives of others.
When they’re not working on their latest DIY project at home, Scott and Kelsey love to visit the beaches of Mexico and follow the University of Kansas men’s basketball team.
