It’s no secret that entering into retirement can be a tricky situation. However, for those that are in the process of retiring now, a new set of challenges have emerged as we face the possibility of a global economic meltdown. United Nations Secretary, General Antonio Guterres, recently spoke during the 2023 World Economic Forum, addressing the fact that the global economic outlook is pretty grim. “Our world is plagued by a perfect storm on a number of fronts. Start with the short-term: the global economic crisis. The outlook, as we all know, is bleak. Many parts of the world face recession. And the entire world faces a slowdown.” He laid out a proposal from the U.N. that emphasizes a “global stimulus” to address economic woes. You can read more from the World Economic Forum here.

Travelers have been plagued by canceled flights and missing luggage in recent months. But an Oregon woman whose suitcase was lost during a United Airlines flight home from Chicago was recently reunited with her bag … after it was missing for four years. While April Gavin was flying home from Chicago in August of 2018, her luggage was somehow rerouted to Central America. It arrived in Houston on a flight from Honduras in January 2023.
